FORT WAYNE, Ind. ---It’s not like he was caught in the act and tried to apologize.
No, according to a probable cause affidavit written by long-time Fort Wayne detective R.J. Sutphin, Perry Mitchell Miles refused to leave the home after he was viewed in the act of molesting two little girls.

Miles, 67, left the residence after the father of the victims fired a gun, but then returned to engage in a physical fight with him, court documents said.
The victims’ grandmother was asleep on a couch on July 4 around 4 p.m. when she woke up and heard Miles “telling the victims how beautiful they were.”
When the grandmother turned around, she saw Miles with his pants and underwear down. The little girls, five and six years old, were touching his private parts. As soon as he saw the grandmother, he immediately pulled up his pants - a sign of guilt, if nothing else.
Their father, who had to fire the gun to get rid of Miles, asked his girls what was going on and one of them said they all “had their pants down.”
Miles gave an explanation that perhaps he hoped would make sense.
“He advised that he was a doctor and was checking them over and showing them how to check a man over too,” court documents said.
A video the father obtained from the front porch showed Miles with one of the girls sitting on his lap, molesting her before she got away from him, court documents said.
A followup interview with the two victims at the Dr. Bill C. Lewis Center for Children revealed that Miles had touched both of them “in the places you are not allowed to touch.”
Miles was charged with six counts of Level 4 felony child molesting and is currently being held at the Allen County Jail.
He has a court date scheduled for Friday.
