Verdict: Jury finds 'ballhard' member guilty of murder
Jalan Carpenter was found guilty of murder in Allen Superior Court Thursday after a three day trial.
The jury believed that Carpenter, now 22, waited for John Peterson, 19, a signed basketball player for Manchester University, in the area of Vance and Reed on March 26, 2021 and ambushed Peterson at 10:28 p.m. that night.

FWPD arrests teen in 16-year-old's Saturday morning homicide
Jamoni Burton, 19, who lived in the same apartment complex as his alleged victim, Kardenia Anthony Hollis, is now facing a virtual life sentence homicide. Thursday he was booked in to the Allen County Jail on a murder charge, according to the Allen County Sheriff's Department website.
