Shawn Williams, 48, is on trial this week, charged as an accomplice, acting in concert with Chad Kinney, 49, in the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Philip Rhinehart, a known drug user whose friends were birds of a feather. Chad Kinney isn’t on trial yet, but his name this week has become infamous as the shooter.

Michael Barker, a kid from the neighborhood who was best pals with now convicted murderer Anthony Lopez, might not have known what his friend was going to do when he walked into the woods with victim William Kintzel. But chances are he did that evening around 7 p.m. on April 10, 2022.

What he heard was the shooting death of Kintzel after he’d been subdued by blunt force, something revealed in the October 2022 trial of Lopez who was convicted and sentenced to 67 years for murder plus another 20 years for using a gun to commit the crime. Kintzel’s body was discovered four days later when a teenager, now 20, took the stand Tuesday to say he was 17 when he and a friend were walking through the woods around 7 p.m. and stumbled upon the dead man.

This week, Williams faced a jury for the second murder he’s accused of committing, that of Vanessa Brabson, 34 at the time of her death. He was found guilty of murder and drug dealing after the jury spent about seven hours deliberating the case. 

The 3-year relationship between Jeffery Harris and Kanikia Coleman had barely ended, however, when Harris turned up at her home one night in January 2022 and apparently went haywire.

So when Garland White came home around 11 am. after "being gone most of the night," it wasn't a warm homecoming with biscuits and gravy.
