STATEMENT FROM CHRISTINA GULL NOW INCLUDED BELOW
ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. ---Christina Gull, a candidate for Allen Superior Court judge who hopes to follow her mother, Frances Gull, on to the bench, was suspended last week from her position as a deputy prosecutor at the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
The Probable Cause has confirmed that the suspension extended from July 6 through July 10. This reporter has reached out to Gull for a statement.

Allen County Prosecutor Michael McAlexander confirmed the suspension, adding that his office doesn't discuss internal personnel matters.
Gull, who handles many child sex crimes for the Allen County Prosecutor, is back on the job, McAlexander said.
Gull was the first to announce her candidacy for Allen County judge in January. Two other candidates then announced. They are Magistrate Samuel Keirns in Allen Superior Court and Jesus "Rick" Trevino, magistrate in Allen Circuit Court.
Gull released this statement to The Probable Cause this afternoon:
"I have always told the families and survivors I’ve worked with that I will be open and honest with them about their cases, and today is no different.
Earlier this month, I was given the opportunity to transition from handling Sex Crimes and Child Abuse cases to a Major Felony caseload. Over the past several months, the demands of my work began to take a significant physical and emotional toll, and my effectiveness on those cases suffered which led to my week-long suspension. That challenge became even greater in April when my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer affecting his brain and lungs.
This decision to make this transition was not made lightly. It reflects my commitment to serving the public at the highest level while also being present for my family during an extraordinarily difficult time.
I remain fully committed to my family, my work, and this campaign. I look forward to continuing to earn the trust of voters through my work ethic, my character, and my unwavering commitment to public service."
