FISHERS, Ind. --Alec Hegge told investigators with the Hamilton County Metro ICAC Task Force that he “never hurt” a patient because there were too many safeguards in place.
Hegge, 31, originally from Fort Wayne and a 2013 Snider High School graduate, was a registered behavior technician at Changing Lives Behavior Analysis Inc. in Anderson, according to a release posted July 24 on Facebook by the Fishers Police Department.

He was arrested July 24 by a detective with the Hamilton County Metro ICAC Task Force as a suspect in several child sex crimes, including the molestation of an infant, the release stated. ICAC stands for Internet Crimes Against Children.
He’s being held at the Madison County Jail on two Felony I counts for child molesting, a Felony 4 count for child exploitation and two Felony 5 counts for possession of child sex abuse, according to online court records.
A jail spokeswoman confirmed Hegge was being held there on $100,000 cash bail.
Through their investigation and “given his occupation” detectives believe there may be more victims. Hegge, who worked with children with autism, is no longer employed at Changing Lives and the practice is cooperating with law enforcement, the release stated.
In its report, WTHR in Indianapolis said Hegge was caught in a sting set up on an Ohio nanny who would “allegedly sexually assault the children she cared for and record the abuse to exchange with Hegge.”
Hegge allegedly shared child porn and abuse videos he produced with a baby girl, the news report said. Court documents revealed that Hegge and the nanny “discussed plans to sexually abuse her own, unborn child during her pregnancy,” WTHR reported.
Detectives said Hegge admitted to police that he encouraged the nanny to sexually assault the young children in her care and paid her to send the recorded material she produced..
Hegge also allegedly admitted to sexually abusing a young child more than 100 times. Police found 140 files of child sex abuse on Hegge’s digital devices and haven’t finished the investigation, WTHR reported.
Hegge lived in Pendleton in an apartment, according to online court records. His Facebook page indicates he is married and has three young children. He was a student at Purdue Fort Wayne for two years after his high school graduation and then attended IU Indianapolis and “studied religious studies,” his page noted.
On Sept. 10, Hegge is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Andrew Hopper of Madison Circuit Court for a dispositional hearing or trial setting. He was deemed indigent and appointed a public defender.
Police are asking anyone who believes they have information or their child may have been abused by Hegge to call Det. Chris Borgmann at 317-595-3467.
.rosecutors say his abuse was found as part of a sting on a woman in Ohio. The woman worked as a nanny, and she would allegedly sexually assault the children she cared for and record the abuse to exchange with Hegge. He, in turn, would allegedly share child sex abuse material he produced with a baby girl.
According to court documents, Hegge and the woman discussed plans to sexually abuse her own, unborn child during her pregnancy.
Police say Hegge admitted he encouraged the woman to sexually assault the young children she was caring for and paid her to send him child sex abuse material recorded during the assaults.
