Ford, 38, one of two charged in the shooting deaths of Tornor Doby, 29, and Anisha Jackson, 38, was found not guilty of felony murder and attempted burglary after a three-day trial in Allen Superior Court, Judge David Zent presiding. The jury hung on the murder charge, not able to make a decision on the question of self defense.

They stood in a row like obedient schoolboys, shoulder to shoulder, softly and deferentially repeating phrases like “yes, ma’am,” and “yes, your Honor.” The men known as the Pike’s Pub Six were in court Friday in front of Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull to find out whether or not they would face a jury together in what is known as a joinder trial for the beating of James Simmons on May 30 at Pike’s Pub in Waynedale.

Early Sunday morning, it was a case of “greased lightning” out on I-69.  At no time of the day or night is it OK to endanger the public by racing your vehicle, but there they were. Two of the racers are now facing criminal misdemeanors for participating in a multi-car speed competition.

Swedzinski, 67, died of a bullet wound to the head and another to his chest, according to a probable cause affidavit written by Detective Gabe Furnish with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Thursday, Michael Chavez Gustin, 22, was charged with murder, felony murder and burglary.

Folks in the 46845 zip code where new luxury homes abut farmland are jittery, wondering if the shooting death was random or personal. It looks as though it was the latter. "If it is any relief, there is no indication that the incident there, will lead to any others," Kenneth Litzenberg, public information officer for the Allen County Sheriff's Department, wrote Thursday in an email response.

The victim was 67 years old and lived far north in Allen County. His home in the 700 block of Hathaway Road is peaceful with large homes. Roger Marvin Swedzinski died Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m. of multiple gunshot wounds.He was at his home.

On the night of Feb. 19, 2023, Brandon Golden and Daisha “Twink” Fitts walked out of the Fraternal Order of Eagles casino on Bluffton Road at 11:23 p.m., got into Golden’s van and left happy, pulling out on to Winchester Road Six minutes later, Golden was frantically speeding back into the casino parking lot, his friend Daisha, a beloved local barber, dying between the passenger and the back seat after she was shot in an ambush at Winchester and Airport Expressway.

Royal Davis, Jr. took the stand on the last day of his trial and told his story, even though it would have been difficult to overcome a felony murder charge when you flat out admit you were there when the homicide occurred.  Friday, after the full four-day trial, Davis was found guilty of those charges and the gun enhancement that can add up to 20 years to a sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 8.

But when Damontre Burnett pulled out a gun in a church parking lot on West Rudisill Boulevard after Kaedan Mowery handed over the money, Mowery shot and killed Burnett, according to a probable cause submitted by homicide detective Ben MacDonald.

Who knows what he told her or even what age she thought Reid J. Cowan was when she agreed to send him nude photos of herself, some as she performed sexual acts on herself, according to a probable cause affidavir submitted by Det. Jacob Quick of the Indiana State Police.

The men, all wearing jackets or T-shirts identifying them as members of The Outlaws Motorcycle Club, were seen beating James Simmons in an amateur video posted online. It caught fire on social media, locally and nationally.

A mistrial was declared in Allen Superior Court Thursday morning (June 12) due to jury misconduct, according to the defense attorney.
